چکیده

Abstract Introduction After flood occurrences, remote sensing images provide crucial information for mapping inundation extent. Optical satellite can be utilized to generate flooded area maps when the areas are free from clouds. Materials and Methods In this study was calculated using a variety of water indices classification algorithms, on Landsat data. Pre-flood, during flood, post-flood data were collected in-depth investigation. The delineation inundated done Normalized Difference Water Index (NDWI), Modified (MNDWI), Ratio (WRI). order detect compare with indices, supervised maximum likelihood algorithm also used land use cover mapping. Results results investigation allowed recession. analysis revealed that covered about 68% area, remained standing seven weeks. We misclassified approach, as determined, classified results, improve areas, generated through each 3 indices. result showed MNDWI better accuracy above 90%, which reflects reliability results. Conclusion This proposed (RS) technique provides basis identification less enable an emergency response targeted, newly areas. Thus, present novel rapid perspective considerable contribution monitoring.

Simulation of Flood Inundation of Guiyang City Using Remote Sensing, Gis and Hydrologic Model

This paper illustrates an example of developing a grid-based distributed hydrologic model for storm-inundation simulation using GIS and remote sensing for flood emergency planning, and the feasibility of the model was explored in the mountainous urban area of Guiyang city of the Guizhou Province, China. The research was based on four major steps. The first step was to prepare data for the model...

A Distributed Flood Inundation Model Integrating with Rainfall-runoff Processes Using Gis and Remote Sensing Data

Flood hazard is one of the most harmful disasters in the world, and it is significant to obtain information on flood characteristics for disaster mitigation as well as vulnerability assessment. This paper develops a distributed model for simulating flood inundation integrating with rainfall-runoff processes. The model is designed to apply the Shuttle Radar Topography Mission (SRTM) DEM data and...

A New Rapid Flood Inundation Model

In this study, we propose a new Rapid Flood Inundation Model (RFIM). The purpose of the RFIM is to generate predictions of water depth and flood extent using less computer resource than required by two-dimensional shallow water equation models (SWEMs). To be useful the RFIM must produce predictions that are comparable with those obtained from SWEMs. The model described here is an improvement on...

Inland wetlands mapping and vulnerability assessment using an integrated geographic information system and remote sensing techniques

The understanding of inland wetlands’ distribution and their level of vulnerability is important to enhance management and conservation efforts. The aim of the study was to map inland wetlands and assess their distribution pattern and vulnerability to natural and human disturbances such as climate change (temperature increase) and human activities by the year 2080. Inland wetland types i.e. for...

A novel approach to model exposure of coastal-marine ecosystems to riverine flood plumes based on remote sensing techniques.

Increased loads of land-based pollutants are a major threat to coastal-marine ecosystems. Identifying the affected marine areas and the scale of influence on ecosystems is critical to assess the impacts of degraded water quality and to inform planning for catchment management and marine conservation. Studies using remotely-sensed data have contributed to our understanding of the occurrence and ...
